Animania- Without an account, your library never leaves your phone.
- If you sign in to sync, we store your email address and your synced library, and nothing else about you.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking SDKs. We don't sell or share your data.
- You can delete your account and everything synced to it from inside the app, at any time.
This policy covers the Animania app for Android and iOS and this website. Animania is made by Web App Bagus ("we", "us"). If anything here is unclear, email bagus@webappbagus.com.
Using Animania without an account
Everything you track is stored in a database on your device: your library, progress, scores, notes, favorites, the titles you add by hand and your activity history. We don't receive any of it.
Two things do go over the network:
- Searches. When you search for a title, the search text goes to our server, which looks it up with AniList, Kitsu, MangaDex or Comic Vine and sends the results back. Our server sees your IP address with each search and uses it to rate-limit requests, so one person can't use up the shared quota these services give us. The IP address is kept in a request counter that's deleted after about a day of inactivity. Search results are cached for up to a week to spare those services repeat requests; the cache holds the search text and results, not who searched.
- Cover images. Covers load directly from the servers of the service they came from (for example AniList's or Comic Vine's image servers). Like any image on the web, those servers see your IP address when your phone downloads one.
If you sign in to sync
Signing in is optional and only exists to sync your library between devices. When you sign in, we store:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in links and identify your account. There's no password.
- Your synced library: library entries (status, progress, score, notes, favorites, start and finish dates), titles you added by hand, and your activity history (which days you logged how many episodes or chapters).
- Sign-in records: our authentication provider logs sign-in events, including the time and IP address, to keep accounts secure.
We use this only to run sync and your account. Each account can only read and write its own data; the database enforces that for every request.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no ad or analytics SDKs in the app.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no cookies on this website.
- No selling, renting or sharing of your personal data.
- No crash-reporting or usage-analytics service receives data from the app.

These services handle data under their own privacy policies. We don't give them your email address or your library.
How long we keep it
- Your account and synced library: until you delete your account.
- Rate-limit counters with IP addresses: deleted after about a day without requests.
- Search cache: up to 7 days, and it contains no personal data.
- Data on your phone: until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage or uninstall it.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. Your account, email address and everything synced to it are deleted from our servers straight away. The library on your phone stays, so you can keep using Animania without an account. To remove that too, uninstall the app or clear its storage. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing bagus@webappbagus.com from the address on your account. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data-protection authority. We process account data to provide the sync service you asked for, and IP addresses for rate limiting and security, which is in our legitimate interest in keeping the service running.
Children
Animania isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to account data is restricted per account at the database level.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we'll also tell you in the app before they take effect.
